Custom Home Builder in Brigham City, UT
HRF Customs builds custom homes throughout Brigham City and Box Elder County — from the Wellsville Mountain bench to the foothill estates of Perry and Willard, with the same regional discipline we bring to our home base in Cache Valley.
Start Your Brigham ProjectWhy Brigham City makes sense for a custom home
Brigham City sits at the northern end of the Wasatch Front, 30 minutes south of Logan through Sardine Canyon and roughly an hour north of Salt Lake City. It's the seat of Box Elder County, the corridor for major Northern Utah aerospace employers, and increasingly a sought-after place to build a custom home — the views are excellent, the lots are more available than further south, and the small-town feel is real.
The east bench of Brigham City runs up against the Wellsville Mountains, with foothill lots that mirror the geography of Logan's east bench — engineered retaining walls, careful drainage, foundation step-downs that follow the natural slope. South of town, Perry and Willard offer similar bench conditions with views over the valley toward the Great Salt Lake and Willard Bay. North of town, the agricultural land around Bothwell and Honeyville gives space for acreage estates.
HRF Customs is headquartered in Cache Valley, but Brigham City is one of our most active service corridors. The 30-minute drive through Sardine Canyon puts us at your lot regularly during construction, and our subcontractor bench includes trades on both sides of the canyon.

What the Brigham City bench actually requires
Bench lots and foothill estates around Brigham City share a lot with their Cache Valley counterparts — but the soils, drainage, and permitting paths are their own.
Wellsville Mountain foothills
The Wellsville Mountains rise sharply behind Brigham, Perry, and Mantua. Foothill lots have real slope and drainage characteristics that have to be designed for — engineered retaining, surface and footing drains, and structural concrete sized for the actual conditions.
Permitting across jurisdictions
Box Elder County, Brigham City, Perry, Willard, and Mantua each handle their own permits. Our preconstruction work includes confirming which jurisdiction your lot falls under and getting the submittal in clean.
North county acreage
Bothwell, Honeyville, and the agricultural belt north of Brigham give space for 5- to 20-acre estates. Well, septic, and utility extensions usually come into play, and we coordinate those during site work rather than as construction-phase afterthoughts.

Brigham City custom home FAQs
Straightforward answers about Box Elder County builds.
Do you cross Sardine Canyon for Box Elder County builds?
Yes — routinely. Sardine Canyon (US-89 / US-91) is the natural commute from our Cache Valley HQ to Brigham City and the Box Elder corridor. We've been working that route for years and have established subcontractors and supply lines on both sides.
How does the Brigham City building department compare to Logan?
Brigham City handles its own building department, separate from Box Elder County (which covers the unincorporated parcels around it). Plan-review pace and inspection cycles differ from Logan City and Cache County, but the basic requirements are similar. We carry the submittal through whichever jurisdiction your lot sits in — Brigham City, Box Elder County, Perry, Mantua, or one of the smaller cities.
Can you handle Wellsville Mountain foothill geology and drainage?
Yes. The eastern bench of Brigham City and the Wellsville Mountain foothills are the prime view lots in the area, and they require the same engineering discipline as Logan's east bench — soil reports, engineered retaining, surface and subsurface drainage. We coordinate the geotechnical work during preconstruction so the foundation is sized for the site you actually have.
Do you serve Perry, Willard, and Mantua?
Yes. Perry and Willard sit south of Brigham along the bench. Mantua is at the mouth of Sardine Canyon. All three are within our regular Box Elder service area, along with the unincorporated parcels in between. Lake-view lots overlooking Willard Bay are especially rewarding builds — drainage detailing has to be right because of the wind exposure and freeze-thaw.
What's a realistic budget for a Brigham bench custom home?
It varies by lot conditions, finish level, and home size. Bench lots with significant retaining or grading needs add to the foundation budget. Wellsville Mountain views often come with steeper slopes that drive the engineering up. We can walk a specific lot with you and give a real preconstruction estimate after seeing what the conditions actually are.
