Custom Home Builder in Northern Utah
Multi-county custom home builder serving Cache Valley, Box Elder corridor, Bear Lake (Rich County), and into Ogden Valley.
Start Your ProjectNorthern Utah is more than Cache Valley
Most builders headquartered in Cache Valley only really serve Cache Valley. Northern Utah is bigger than that. It includes Box Elder County to the west and south, Rich County to the east (Bear Lake and the mountain ranches), and the upper end of Weber County (Ogden Valley, Eden, Huntsville). Each piece has its own geography, its own permitting flow, and its own trade pool.
HRF Customs is set up to work across all of these counties. Our subcontractor bench includes trades on both sides of Sardine Canyon and over Logan Canyon to Bear Lake. We've done preconstruction in jurisdictions ranging from Logan City to small unincorporated parcels in Rich County and the agricultural belt of northern Box Elder.
For more focused area information, see Cache Valley, Brigham City, or Bear Lake.

Four counties, four different building contexts
Each Northern Utah county has its own geography and permitting culture. Knowing them is a real advantage during preconstruction.
Cache County
Logan and Cache Valley — our home base. Bench lots, valley floor, and agricultural land conversions. Permitting through Logan City or Cache County depending on lot location.
Box Elder County
Brigham City, Perry, Willard, Mantua, and the agricultural belt north. Wellsville Mountain bench is geographically similar to Logan's east bench. See our Brigham City page.
Rich County
Bear Lake's Utah side — Garden City and Laketown. Mostly lake-view bench lots and second homes. HOA design review common. See Bear Lake page.
Weber County (Ogden Valley)
Eden, Huntsville, and the mountain estate corridor around Snowbasin and Pineview Reservoir. Project-by-project based on scope and travel.

Northern Utah custom home FAQs
What counts as Northern Utah?
For our service area, Northern Utah covers Cache County (Logan, Cache Valley), Box Elder County (Brigham City and corridor), Rich County (Bear Lake's Utah side and Randolph), and the upper part of Weber County (Ogden Valley, Eden, Huntsville). Each county has its own permitting rules and trade pool.
How is Northern Utah different from just Cache Valley?
Cache Valley is the geographic core, but Northern Utah includes adjacent counties with different geographies. Box Elder runs west into farmland and along the Wellsville Mountain bench. Rich County is mountain ranching country and Bear Lake. Weber County's eastern reaches include Ogden Valley resorts and mountain estates. Each has its own design considerations.
Do you serve Ogden Valley (Eden, Huntsville)?
We do reach into Ogden Valley for custom home projects. The drive south from our Cache Valley HQ is longer than to Brigham City, so we typically take Ogden Valley projects when scope justifies the mobilization — full custom homes rather than smaller scopes.
How does multi-county permitting work?
Each Northern Utah county has its own building department, and the incorporated cities inside them have their own permitting offices. We confirm which jurisdiction your lot falls under during preconstruction and handle the submittal through that path. The basics are similar across counties but the cycles and inspector preferences differ.
What's your most active Northern Utah corridor?
Cache Valley (Logan, Smithfield, Hyrum, Providence) is the densest part of our work. Brigham City and the Box Elder corridor south of Sardine Canyon is the second-most active. Bear Lake is the most active outlying area. Ogden Valley and Rich County beyond Bear Lake are project-by-project.
